Perfume Mosaic

Perfume Mosaic

Perfume Mosaic is a series of paintings that evolved out of the previous project ‘Parfumatorium’, in which I produced 16 perfumes by collecting flowers from local gardens. This work is based on the concept of transition in which perfumes are used as coloring substances to define an image. Transition is a structural change that is the result of interaction and mutual reinforcing developments. While developing the oil essences i descovered that i was able to catch the molecule of various colors. However both molecules of color and odor lasting for only a limited period of time.

The shapeless liquid and gaseous characteristics of perfumes are, in this way, transformed into shape and color. The resulted abstract paintings refer to the intangible aspect of perfumes.
